mendiMendi is a nationally-recognized expert spokesperson in the field of teen mental health and addiction and a passionate advocate to start the conversation on the critical issues that impact teens and their families. Clinically trained, Mendi’s extensive experience as a therapist includes individual and group counseling for children, adolescents, and families in various settings. He has worked at several treatment centers including: the Chesapeake Center for Youth Development, the Carroll County Youth Services Bureau, Chabad Crisis Centers, and the Center for Discovery and Adolescent Change. Before launching Evolve Treatment Centers, Mendi conceived and built, from the ground up, successful, high-end adolescent residential and outpatient programs in Los Angeles. With his newest venture, Evolve Treatment Centers, Mendi instills a rare blend of energy, creativity, and experience to the treatment of teens and young adults struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

Mendi’s natural ability to communicate with adolescents, parents, and professionals makes him a sought after speaker at national mental and behavioral health conferences, public and private schools, as well as business and corporate events. He recently appeared as a teen treatment expert on The Dr. Phil Show and will continue to make regular appearances in this capacity. Mendi blogs for Psychology Today and has contributed to USA Today, Keys to Recovery, In Recovery Magazine, Paradigm, Step 12 Magazine, The Sober World and Valley Scene Magazine. He has been featured in Mishpacha magazine, The Jewish Press, cited in the Asbury Park Press, and, and has been a featured guest on national, local, and syndicated radio programs across the country. Mendi earned a BA with honors in psychology and social work at The University of Maryland and an MSW at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. The son of a Rabbi, eldest of 11 children, he is a part-time rock musician, cantor, and father of two.
